Robert Elibay-Hartog has collaborated with James Wilkes and Patrick Brennan to create Weathering.
German-American Robert Elibay-Hartog was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. He is a son of musicians and grew up with music surrounding him. During his school time he not only studied violin and played in youth orchestras, but also sang lead parts in musical productions at his bi-lingual school, such as Ralph in Gilbert and Sullivan’s “HMS Pinafore”, or Nathan Detroit in “Guys and Dolls”.
After completing his German (and American) high school diploma, Robert Elibay-Hartog began his studies in physics and music at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Here he began formal voice training in his second year, and made his first experiences with opera choruses singing in Tchaikovsky’s “Onegin” and Mozart’s “Magic Flute”. Having made the decision to study voice exclusively, Robert left Vancouver after two years and returned to Berlin, where he studies with Hanno Müller-Brachmann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. At the moment he is doing a year abroad studying with Rudolf Piernay at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Most recently he has performed at the Berlin “Residenzkonzert” in the Charlottenburg Palace, and in a children’s version of Mozart’s “Magic Flute” in the role of Papageno. Furthermore, he has performed the role of Sam in Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti” in a production at his conservatory. Besides singing concerts, Robert teaches a “Music and Theater” activity at an international school in Berlin and gives voice lessons.
