Joshua Kaye collaborated with Holly Pester to create Presidents and Birds and Even.
Josh Kaye is a composer based (for the moment) in Norwich; he has recently completed a Bmus at Guildhall and under Malcolm Singer. He has a passionate interest in the possibilities that arise from the combination of music and drama. Because of this he spent a lot of time collaborating with Christian Bugess (Head of Drama GSMD) firstly on Tales from Ovid (2006) and then The London Cuckholds (2007). He also spent much of that year in Holland at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag where he studied with Gilius van Bergeijk, Cornelis de Bonht and Martijn Padding. In addition to this he also spent the summer in the San Miniato Prima Del Teatra course working as a composer performer with the director Christian Burgess and movement teacher extraordinaire Danny Macrath.
More recently he completed a several theatre scores including Of Mice and Men (2008) Leopardi (2009) and is now working towards leaving the country to spend some substantial amount of time in India studying Bansuri. In addition to his interests in drama his work also includes working with abstract structures and pared down and sometimes catalogued material. Josh is also proud to have worked with many other composers, artists and poets, some of which include Matthew Lee Knowles, Neil Luck and Holly Pester (on the Voiceworks project). He is also used to be the co runner of SnM (Society of New Music) and is interested in placing contemporary music in new and unexpected locations.
