Edward Nesbit collaborated with Steve Willey to create Soundings.

Born in 1986, Edward Nesbit graduated from Cambridge University in June 2007 with a first class honours degree in music.  Edward then studied for two years with Julian Anderson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama; he completed a Masters degree in composition with distinction in 2008, winning the Ian Horsburgh Memorial Prize for the best postgraduate composition, and subsequently became a fellow at Guildhall. 

In 2009 he participated in the Britten-Pears Contemporary Composition and Performance Course, studying with Oliver Knussen, Colin Matthews and Magnus Lindberg; he has also studied on courses with John Casken and Richard Barrett.  In 2010 he will work with James MacMillan and the London Symphony Orchestra as part of the LSO Panufnik Scheme, and with Tristan Murail, Beat Furrer and Hanspeter Kyburz at Centre Acanthes.

His works have been performed by groups such as the Orlando Consort, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pierre-Andre Valade in venues including the Robin Howard Dance Theatre, Wigmore Hall and Barbican Hall; his work has also been played in the Spitalfields and City of London Festivals, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3. He is currently studying towards a PhD at King's College, London, studying with George Benjamin.
