Bass-baritone Oskar Palmblad is currently a fourth year undergraduate student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying with Janice Chapman.

Oskar has previously spent two years at the Stockholm Operastudio, where his roles included Quince (Midsummer night’s dream, Britten), Wagner (Faust, Gounod) Sclemil (Les contes d’Hoffmann, Offenbach) and Bob (The old Maid and the Thief, Menotti).

Concert experience includes recitals as a soloist in Sweden as well as in the UK. In September 2011, Oskar sang the bass solo in Mozart Requiem in St Michael’s Church, Beccles, with the Kingfisher Sinfonietta conducted by Vetta Wise.

Oskar has participated in masterclasses for distinguished singers and teachers of singing, including Dr. Richard Miller, Håkan Hagegård and Susan McCulloch

His studies are generously supported by the Anglo-Swedish Society.
