Louis Chiappetta (b.1989) is currently a Fulbright Postgraduate Scholar at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he studies with Julian Anderson. Louis began his formal composition studies at the Mannes College of Music’s Preparatory Division at the age of thirteen. He later went on to study with Keith Fitch at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 2011. Louis has had works performed in the US and abroad at festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival and School, Dartington International Summer School (UK), and MusicX Festival (Switzerland). He has been the winner of several prizes including the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, American Academy of Arts and Letters Charles Ives Scholarship, Cleveland Institute of Music Donald Erb Prize, and a Fulbright Award from the US Department of State.
