Sarah Jenks was born in Devon, UK and started singing lessons at the age of 7. She obtained her BA (Hons) in German and Russian from Trinity College, Oxford, where she was also President of the Music Society. During this time she trained vocally with Jennifer Dakin of the Royal Academy of Music and was also awarded a Heath Harrison scholarship to participate in two weeks of masterclasses with Mirella Freni and Christa Ludwig at Academia Vocalis in Austria. In 2010 she commenced Post Graduate performance studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with Kathryn Harries.
Sarah has given many solo recitals including the Holywell Music Room, Gray’s Inn, Yaroslavl (Russia), Kelly Concert Society and also Plymouth Museum as the winner of Plymouth Music Accord’s Young Musicians’ Platform. Her oratorio work includes St John Passion, Judas Maccabeaus and Christmas Oratorio. In 2009 she produced a fully-staged production with orchestra of Schubert’s Fierrabras. Among her operatic roles are Flower Maiden, Orlofsky and Dido (Purcell), and she has performed arias with the Oxford Philomusica under Marios Papadopoulos.
