Claudia is a Masters Scholar at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated from GSMD with a BMus (Hons) in 2010, supported by the Supported by the Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers and the City of London Corporation. Having grown into an Opera singer, she has been performing regularly as a solo artist in concerts and masterclasses at the Guildhall School, Darwin College, Cambridge and St Peter’s Eaton Square, and had the privilege to tour with GSMD in the opera Mascagni’s ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’, performing around Italy and the Barbican, London. She won 1st Prize of The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors Ensemble Prize and has just finished a season with the British Youth Opera doing La Boheme at ‘The Peacock Theatre’, London. This year she has done a series of Opera Scenes in nationwide concerts, as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Leonora in Fedelio, Agatha in Der Freischutz and Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica with the GSMD Opera Ensemble. She is about to debut with ‘Hampstead Garden Opera’ in Hugh the Drover and just sung her debut at Wigmore Hall in May 2011.
Born in Wimbledon, Claudia Myles started out her career in Pop and Musical Theatre singing, studying at Italia Conti, Laine Theatre Arts and Guildford School of Acting- Here she was also a highly acclaimed dancer and actress, studying ballet for 15 years and many forms of contemporary dance. She gained her ‘LAMDA Gold Medal’ in Acting, had lead roles in many plays and is a member of The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Her singing career took off when she won the title, for 2 years running, of The Young Musician Of Merton, aged just 12, beating young people twice her age. She then was asked to represent numerous charities and her theatre schools, to sing in many venues, including the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican, and up to today, she still sings at concerts and festivals at these venues in London and Surrey, raising money, primarily for ‘The Children’s Trust’ and ‘The Stroke Association’. At age 15, she was taken under the instruction of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and recorded an album and a year later was successful in the hit TV show, Pop Idol Series 2. As a multi-talented performer, she has been the lead role in many productions, ranging from Dido in Dido and Aeneas (Wimbledon 2004), Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, with GSMD professionals (Kings College 2005), Milly in 7 Brides for 7 brothers (Tiffin’s Performing Company 2006) to Golde in Fiddler on the Roof (Wimbledon 2003). Claudia then went on to work with Howard Goodall and Charles Hart, with the NYMT, on the world premiere of their musical, The Dreaming (Kings College 2005). Following this, she became the lead, Mary, in a new musical by Jeremy James Taylor and David Nield, Hit the Gold Trail (Tiffin’s Performing Company 2005).d a place at GSMD in their Master of Music Programme, starting September 2010.
