Tom Bassett is a Cornish born composer currently studying composition with Julian Anderson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 2010 Tom graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire with a First class BMus (Hons) degree. Whilst at Birmingham Tom studied composition with Richard Causton and Edwin Roxburgh.
Tom's compositions have been performed at various venues across the country, including Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Royal Albert Hall, London. He has also had the opportunity to write for professional ensembles such as Decibel, BCMG and in 2008 his wind orchestra piece Fanfare for Winds was selected to be performed by the Birmingham Conservatoire Wind Orchestra. Tom has recently been commissioned to write the music for the World's Largest Orchestra record attempt, to take place in the LG Arena, Birmingham in 2011.
