Peter Yarde Martin was born in Salisbury in 1988 and grew up in North London. His musical development was shaped by years of playing trumpet in local youth orchestras and singing as a chorister in a church choir. In June 2010 he graduated with a first class honours degree in Music from Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he was an organ scholar. He currently divides his time between studying for an MMus in Composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (where he is taught by Malcolm Singer) and working as Musical Director at St. Peter’s Church, Notting Hill.
Recent projects include music written for Pembroke College Chapel Choir, workshops with the Britten Sinfonia and Nico Muhly, a remix project at the Nonclassical club in Hoxton, and various performances of chamber works. His music frequently reflects his diverse musical upbringing and activity, ranging from Renaissance keyboard and choral music to electronica and jazz.
